THE TRAVELLER
BUSINESS TRAVEL is an important part of NDE, inspection and integrity jobs. To be taken seriously as a true traveller, you’d be expected to be a member of The Travellers Club formed in London in 1826 in Pall Mall. You’d also need to carry letters like KCMG FRSA DSO HON.LLD after your name, to get in the club in the first place. We’ve asked for evidence of these but our TRAVELLER hasn’t got back to us yet, claiming lost computer files and the GDPR regulations or something.
What we do know about our TRAVELLER is that he has worked as permanent ex-pat in integrity roles for 20 years, a travelling ‘temporary’ ex-pat for another ten and taken numerous short term overseas engineering jobs in between. He has been in a plane crash, a refinery explosion, lost in the desert, and in the jungle, and was once kidnapped and held to ransom by his own armed guard for 10 days. With more air miles than an astronaut, his contributions to our website are a travel lesson to us all.
